Breakfast, Ponies, Nature Walk and Ice Cream!
Aunt Bean visited us today. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast at Sunrise Cafe followed by a trip to the Lakewood Equestrian Center. Sofia loves riding ponies and Luc enjoyed watching the goats eat from sister’s hand. It was a great time until my allergies kicked in. I am still recovering but it was worth all of the smiles that I witnessed. Sofia fell asleep on the way home so we left her at home to nap with abuelita. I really wanted to go for a walk so I convinced the kids to go to the nature center by offering them ice cream! Win Win!!

Best days start out with a nature walk
Today we started out our day with a walk at El Dorado Nature Centure. The trees, water, and rustling of the leaves all bring me back to my childhood, growing up on the dairy with a pond. Sofia loves walking the trails with me while Luc rests peacefully in my ring sling. This morning we were joined by big sister and papa! Funny moments: Big sister running from a squirrel and big sister sending little sister to walk in front of a lizard.
Sleep
The one thing that I miss the most is sleep. Buddy Luc woke up Sofia this morning and I thought it was cute that he wanted to wake up sister. I will never let that happen again! Sofia was not her happy go lucky self in the morning. I was excited to take the kids to the aquarium and she wanted to stay in bed with Ay Yay Yay. I should have listened to my little Sof, I would have avoided like ten meltdowns! The day ended with dinner at an Irish pub and everyone was pleased with the great food and family friendly atmosphere. Two thumbs up for Gallagher’s!!
Baby Luc Baby Luc Baby Luc!!
Where do I begin?! You are my favorite little man and I love you very much. Having a son completed me and I can’t wait to spend my life being your mother. Sofia loves you so much and I look forward to seeing her wake up and kiss you each morning. You are her “Hermano” and she loves making you laugh. You look just like your father, handsome and a charming little smile. Abuelita aka Ay Yay Yay makes you smile as soon as you set eyes on her. It makes her day when you smile at her. Your big sister loves you a lot too! Not enough to change your diaper though. 🙂

You are 7.5 months, you have two bottom front teeth, top canine teeth are popping through, you enjoy swimming, dancing, laughing and smiling!

A Healthy Family
We went hiking at Peter’s Canyon on Friday and had a great workout. You probably enjoyed the hill climbing, the feeling of the warm sun and the brightness around you. 🙂 A healthy family is a happy family and we look forward to having you join us on our adventures!
Feeling you move around in my belly :)
I felt you moving around in my belly for the first time on Wednesday, April 24th. It felt as if there were bubbles floating and popping in my belly – a very interesting and cool feeling.
I am currently 18 weeks (4 1/2 months pregnant) and I am officially showing a baby bump. People at the gym have been congratulating me and the bootcamp instructor has been making me take it easy. Your Mother (aka QuietStorm @ gym) enjoys a great workout! I know you will be my mini-QuietStorm, very active and healthy. 🙂
Drake Stadium at UCLA is my favorite place to workout. And both me and your father are BRUINS!!

Your Father/My Awesome Husband – Alvaro German Betancourt

You father’s name is Alvaro German Betancourt and he is a very loving man with a super handsome smile.
How I met your father:
It was April 2009 and I attended a networking event in Hancock Park in which he also attended. At the end of the event, he approached the group that I was talking to and presented postcards to his sushi restaurant (Oba Sushi). He was wearing a tan colored suit and seemed like a charming young (later found out that he was a whopping 7 years older than me) man. I enjoy giving my viejo a hard time about his age but he is super young at heart (takes after Momma B for sure!). We were pretty much inseparable from the start and enjoyed many adventures, lots of laughter and mucho amor with one another.
I feel like everything is in it’s right place and that our growing family (TEAM AWESOME) will be successful in all that we set out to accomplish because we will make sure that we make it that way.
We celebrated your father’s birthday this past weekend and had a magnificent time! Everyday is a celebration in Casa Betancourt and we look forward to celebrating you – Baby B. 🙂

We are 17 weeks and you are the size of a turnip :)

We are now 17 weeks along and your Momma is feeling great! Luckily, I haven’t experienced the morning sickness that most pregnant women do and I have been able to make it to the gym. Going to the gym makes me muy feliz and having you as my gym partner is great motivation. I was able to get your father out on the track this past weekend – he is a bit flojo when it comes to exercise but we won’t give up on him. 🙂 I began to notice a bit of a baby bump these last couple of weeks and I am looking forward to feeling you wiggling around in my belly.
